What is AM Dealerforum?
AM Dealerforum is a secure internet site, exclusively for automotive industry professionals, where you can discuss, with other members, any matter connected with your industry or your franchise, in complete confidence.
You can post thoughts, opinions, requests, observations or messages on any relevant subject, in the knowledge that:-
•  All subscribing members in your chosen forum will be able to read what you post.
•  None of the users and contributors to the site will know your identity.
•  All subscribing members will be able to post replies or observations: thus initiating an online discussion.
You can initiate a topic for discussion, or you can join in an existing one.

How does it work?
Once you are registered and logged in with AM Dealerforum, you can click on the forum header, go to the forum section (or sections) you have subscribed to, and read the messages or "posts" from other members on various topics of their choosing. You can then, if you choose, reply to existing topics by adding your own post; or you can start a new topic of your own. Then wait for the response! (we will send you an email message when replies come in to topics you have originated or contributed to).

If you represent more than one franchise, and have subscribed to them, you will be able to access the forum sections for each one. All members will also have access to the Automotive Industry Forum, for topics of general interest.

You will also be able to vote in opinion polls, either general or specific to your franchise, which are held from time to time. If there is a hot topic which you would like to see an opinion poll for, you can request it, and we will do our best to comply.

What does it cost?
It is free to register with AM Dealerforum. You will then have access to the Automotive Industry Forum for discussion and debate of general industry topics.
Subscription to a franchise forum costs just £15 per month (or £180 per annum). Additional franchises can be added for just £5 per month (£60 per annum). Payment can be made by direct debit, with the security of the Direct Debit Guarantee offered by the banks and building societies participating in the Direct Debit Scheme. In exceptional circumstances payment may be made by cheque for one year's subscription in advance. Rates of subscription are subject to change - please see terms and conditions.

I do not know how well it uk rolex replica worked or how reliable it was, but the mere movement of the effort and the replica watches functionality is impressive - even though it is likely to be pure chronological obfuscation. Basically, the whole point of fake rolex replica watches the exercise was the business of technology. APRP has caused problems that do not exist before, and then come up with replica rolex a way to solve this problem.

What are the aims of AM dealerforum?
To encourage free and uninhibited dialogue between members about matters which affect their businesses, without fear of interference or retribution.
To enable the views and concerns of members to be freely expressed and shared, to reach consensus, and thereby achieve co-operation.
To help franchised dealers achieve an equitable balance between their interests and those of the manufacturer.

What are the benefits to me?
• You can discuss whatever topic you like in complete freedom.
• You don't have to "hold back" - you can say what you really think.
• You will have the confidence of "strength in numbers" on issues of importance.
• Your manufacturer will not be able to "divide and rule".

Isn’t this just a “talking shop”?
Not at all: you will discuss real issues, and be able to make business decisions based upon what you know other dealers think, and how they will act.

How can I be confident of strength in numbers?
We will hold an opinion poll when appropriate on critical issues of concern to members. You will be able to vote, and results will show how many are "For" or "Against".
Your manufacturer may be offered sight of the results of polls specific to their franchise (but not who voted): they will also be sent a hard copy.
You will be able to act confidently on the results of each poll, if you choose to do so. For example:-
•  Your targets are increased arbitrarily: are other dealers similarly affected?
•  Your margin is reduced: are you prepared to accept this?
•  Expensive redevelopment or refurbishment of facilities is demanded: how many dealers are willing or able to go along with this?
•  You believe that your franchise's marketing campaign is ineffective: how many dealers agree?
In your negotiations with your manufacturer you will have the confidence of knowing not only that the majority of the dealers are with you, but that your manufacturer also knows that this is the case.
In many instances it is likely that controversial proposals will be dropped by the manufacturer, once it is clear that a majority of dealers are opposed to them.

Is it all about negative issues?
Certainly not. Members will be able to discuss, for example:-
•  Marketing ideas that they find successful.
•  Tips on dealing with "red-tape" issues: e.g. Employment, Health And Safety, Trading Standards.
•  Useful advice on negotiating with banks, finance companies and suppliers.
•  Information which might help fellow members to achieve bonus targets.
Warnings about confidence tricksters or car thieves operating in a particular area.

Will my manufacturer have a voice?
We will be able to invite the manufacturer to reply, online, to particular issues where appropriate, and if members taking part agree. Manufacturer's involvement will not be automatic, however, but by invitation. We do not wish discussions to degenerate into a "slanging match"!

My franchise has its own Intranet – so why do I need AM Dealerforum?
Your franchise intranet is useful for non-contentious issues, such as car swaps and parts searches, and the provision of general information. But be under no illusion: it exists mainly for the benefit of the manufacturer: and any message you post, or e-mail you send, using the franchise intranet can be viewed by them and its source immediately identified.

How confidential is AM Dealerforum, and how secure is my identity?
Please take a moment to read our Privacy Policy .
Firstly your identity is known only to AM Dealerforum's administration. You are protected by your username - a unique name which you can choose, and which is the only name which will feature "online" against your postings. We will never, under any circumstances, reveal your unique identity to any third party, unless we are ordered to do so by a c ourt of l aw. Please read our Terms And Conditions carefully.

Can I say whatever I like?
Within reason, yes. However, please be aware that we cannot condone the following:-
• Bad language
• Defamatory language
• Messages or postings which are slanderous or libellous
• Postings which could be considered anti-competitive

Will my views be relevant to much larger or smaller dealers?
This depends on the subject. It is our belief that many of the issues in the industry affect all dealers, large or small. But there will be the opportunity to read a "profile" of the dealer posting a particular message. This will allow members to disclose some basic non-confidential information about themselves: e.g. large dealer/small dealer; North/South; privately owned/PLC etc. The creation of a profile will be entirely optional, and will not disclose identity.

Am I confined to my own franchise?
Yes: although if you represent more than one franchise you will be invited to join each appropriate forum. However, we have also created an "all-franchise" or general section (The Automotive Industry Forum), to which all members have access, and which is ideal for discussing topics which are common to all, such as block exemption, dealer contracts, and contentious issues in the news which affect all dealers.

Why do I need an email address that is independent of my manufacturer?
Confidentiality on AM Dealerforum is our first priority. As we will use your email address to contact you with information regarding your membership it is important that you use an independent service for your email, such as Hotmail, BT Yahoo, or your own ISP (internet service provider). If in doubt please contact us, or give us your home email address when completing your subscription form.

How can I get more information?
You can contact us by email at admin@dealerforum.com. We’ll email you back, or, if you prefer, call you back by phone. Alternatively you can telephone or fax us: details are on the Contact Us page.
